Generally, it is recommended to change your filters every 6 months. This will not only reduce the dust and allergens in your home it also keeps the system from having to work harder due to a dirty filter.

Generally you should never need to clean your duct work. When an HVAC unit is running at it’s peak performance it will be filtering the lint, dust and allergens.
